MOORSIDE DAY CENTRE
The Moorside Day Centre is situated within our Moorside nursing home and operates two days a week, Mondays and Tuesdays. It provides supportive facilities between 9.30am and 3.30pm for elderly mentally infirm people in the community, predominantly those with dementia. One of its primary aims is to provide respite for carers in the community. Attendance at the Day Centre can sometimes be a prelude to planned respite breaks for longer periods at the Home.
We can provide mini bus transport to and from the Day Centre to enable members of the local community to attend.
A meal is provided mid-day for those attending the Day Centre. Each day the Day Centre staff provide a range of games, quizzes and activities to encourage stimulation and co-ordination. Occasionally the mini-bus will be used to take the members out for a day trip.
Again, the Charity is obliged under its Charitable Scheme to provide support for needy persons and a financial information assessment form has to be completed by prospective applicants, in addition to the supply of information about care needs.

Referrals should be made on the appropriate referral form and the form should be returned, together with the financial enquiry form and medical consent form. A home visit will be made to assess applicants for day care.
The current attendance charge from 8th
May 2008 is:
£41.72 per day, and £8.34 for return trip mini bus
transport
